Admission Procedure

In playgroup we take an oral interview from the parents and the child. For the rest of the classes (Nursery – Five) admission to any class is based on our admission test comprising of the following subjects

  • Urdu
  • English
  • Maths
  • General knowledge / Nazra
  • Passing marks are 40% in the admission test.
  • All Hafiz-e-Quran students are exempted from admission test up to 8th class.
  • Student must fall in the age criteria approved by UGI.
  • Students must have a B. form with them at the time of admission

Documents required after passing admission test:

  • School Leaving Certificate
  • Passport size picture (2).
  • Copy of B-form.
  • Copy of father’s CNIC.

    NOTE:

  • Age will be calculated till 1st March 2023 for admission in session 2023-24.
  • Age relaxation for Hifz Quran is six month.

Rules and Regulations

Unique Junior School

Parents and students are advised to study all rules and regulations carefully. They must adhere to these rules in all respects. It is obligatory on all to abide by these rules. Violation of these rules may lead to the expulsion of a student / parents from the school.

  • All students are instructed to reach school in time.
  • No student shall be allowed to attend classes without proper school uniform except Playgroup.
  • The person who escorts a child from school should show the school I.D card on the school gate for security reasons.
  • From Class Three onwards, a system generated ‘absent message’ will be sent to the parents of absent students.
  • In case of any inconvenience or inquiry, students / parents are advised to consult respective class In-charges.
  • The school premises, classrooms and surroundings must be kept neat and clean.
  • Students are strictly prohibited to write on walls and whiteboards.
  • Students are not allowed to take leave without any specific reason or emergency. The leave application form must bear signatures of both the parent and Class In-charge.
  • At Junior schools, the students are encouraged to take part in different co-curricular and sports activities to groom their personality.
  • Students must focus on moral and ethical values.
  • Students are advised to pay full attention to the teachers’ lecture in the class.
  • Discipline in the school premises must be maintained by all means.
  • Instructions and notices issued by the Principal or the Vice Principal should be followed strictly.
  • The Clerical Staff, Security Guard and the Office Management Staff render commendable services to the students. Therefore, they deserve due regard from the students.
  • Girls are not allowed to bring jewellery to school.
  • Extension in fee can only be granted twice in a session with prior approval of the principal within the current month.
  • Refund Policy
    Unique is the only institution which offers fee-refund as per UGI policy. If a student applies for fee refund within six working days of admission, he/she shall be refunded 100% fee including A/C charges and Security Fee. In case, a student decides to leave school after more than six working days or a month (before depositing the next month fee), Admission Fee and Security will be refunded only. If a parent do not turn up to collect the refund, the amount will be sent to the parents through Money-Order after informing them telephonically. (Fee Refund Policy is available at Admission Office).
  • Scholarship
    A remarkable feature of Unique Group of Institutions (UGI) is to reward students with scholarships who keep up good work and improve their previous result in their respective grade and section. Unique Junior School ensures provision of quality education to children. The award of scholarships is aimed at creating and maintaining competitive atmosphere among students. Following is a brief description of scholarships offered to children from class II onwards at all Unique Junior Schools:
    • Class Position Scholarships in Term Exams
    • Encouragement Scholarships in Term Exams
    • Dr.Nisar Ahmed Rana free education scholarship is given to the position holders from class Two onwards on the basis of Annual result.

Academics

The course of studies have been selected keeping in view the modern and Islamic educational philosophy. At every step, it is ensured that a student completes his/her course of studies twice in an academic year.

Academic discipline is the hallmark at UGI where it is ensured that students should focus exclusively on their studies. In this regard, a constant liaison is considered to be the high point of our academics which keeps students alive besides keeping parents abreast of their ward’s academic performance. In case of deficiency in studies, our educational system pays individual attention and conducts extra classes as arranged by the respective Principals on the recommendation of the class in charges and subject teachers as well

Class Activities

Class activities lead to wide range of skill-based games, strategies and interactive activities that support student's educational development. The goal of all activities is to enhance student's understanding, skill or effectiveness in a specific area by engaging multiple styles of learning. Classroom activities are activities done by student inside the class as part of applying or doing the practical part of the lesson after listening to the theoretical part which is presented by the teacher.

Moreover, Maria Montessori gadgets are introduced in preschool to develop fine and gross motor skills of students.

Co-Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities facilitate in the development of various domains of mind and multiple facets of personality such as intellectual, emotional, social, moral and aesthetic development. Creativity, enthusiasm, energetic and positive thinking are some of the traits of personality development and outcomes of co-curricular activities. UGI pays special attention towards co-curricular activities which are aimed at the grooming of the students. UGI believes that for all-round development of a child, there is a need of emotional, physical, spiritual and moral development that is supplemented by co-curricular activities. Besides developing students’ personality, co-curricular activities also strengthen classroom learning.

UGI also emphasizes on developing creativity in students through different co-curricular activities like essay writing, Qira’at and Naat competitions, Declamation contests, debates, speeches, Dramas ,skits, songs, UV light performance, tableau, puppet shows, Rhyme Competition(preschool), Story enactment and indoor /outdoor games like PT display, Aerobics and gymnastics to help in overall grooming of the children.

These activities guide students how to organize and present an activity, how to develop skills, how to cooperate and coordinate in different events. All these help in creating leadership qualities. They also provide avenues of socialization, self-identification and self-assessment when the child comes in contact with organizers, fellow participants, teachers, people outside the school during cultural activities.

  • Dramatics:
    1st position in the children category at Unique Drama Festival at Alhamra Cultural complex 2016. Regular Training Workshops (Public Speaking, Dramatics, Music, Creativity).
  • P.T Shows:
    Winners PT show trophy at the inauguration and closing ceremony of Punjab Olympics 2016.
  • Cheerleaders:
    2nd position in National Cheerleaders Championship 2016.
  • Aerobics:
    1st position in Lahore District Aerobics Championship 2016.
  • Music:
    1st position in Singing (Junior Girls category) at Sufi Night at Alhamra Cultural Complex 2016.

Sports

The benefits of playing sports in educational institutions are multiple; it leads to balanced mental and physical growth. It teaches the children punctuality, patience, teamwork and leadership.

Sports at UGI play an important role in the healthy school life of the children. UGI has inculcated discipline and sportsmanship among the students and taught them how to follow the rules and regulations of the games of their interest. Our students, irrespective of the age group take part in various games under the supervision of the game teachers.

UGI provides every possible facility to the students with spacious courts and play grounds where they play cricket, hockey, football, badminton, table tennis, aerobics and athletics under the supervision of PTIs. In Junior schools, Two days a week have been fixed exclusively for games. The parents are requested to send their children in proper sports kit. UGI holds the Annual Sports Day where the students participate excitedly. Regular Sports Camps are also held in the afternoon to groom young players in the sport of their own interest. UGI has established “Unique Hockey Club” to give young players an opportunity to prove their skills.

Scholarships

Under the legislation passed by the Government of Punjab, 10 % free education has been given to educational institutions since 2015 onwards. UGI offers free education to the children who come on merit besides hardship basis.
